Portable Quenchant Tester Type OGJ – 01

PThe Institute of Precision Mechanics has developed and built a portable quenchant tester, labeled OGJ – 01. It is designated for testing of quenching media, in accordance with the ISO 9950 standard. Results of measurements made with quenchant tester are helpful in the evaluation and comparison of quenchants, as well as enabling the correct selection of the appropriate quenchants for the hardening of given components. The tester may be used to check the properties of various types of quenching media (e.g. oils, polymer, water) in production-type tanks installed in heat treating departments. It can also be used in industrial and academic laboratories. The result of such a test asseses the quenching ability of the given production stand, as well as to predict the hardness of components to be hardened.

Computer Tester Type GO – 01A For Checking Technological Features Of Quenching Fluids

The computer tester of quenching fluids type GO – 01A was invented in the Institute to be used in laboratories of manufacturers of coolants and in hardening plants dealing with special hardening processes. This tester is specially usable for the oil coolants and the polymer coolants. The following technological parameters of the coolants can be checked: time of cooling of the tester down to temperature 600°C, 400°C, 200°C [s]; maximal speed of cooling [°C/s] temperature of the maximal speed of cooling [°C]; speed of cooling at temperature 300°C [°C] and Grossmann number H [1/in]. The technological properties of a tested coolant are printed in form of a special rapport.

Electronic Moisture Regulator Type ERW – 1

Electronic moisture regulator is designated for continuous measure and regulation of dew-point of non-aggresive gases, exogas and endogas atmospheres obtained from combustible gases and atmospheres obtained from liquid organic compounds.

Apparatus For Hardenability Jominy Test

Apparatus for Hardenability Jominy Test is designed for assessment of hardenability of constructional steel. Results of hardenability Jominy test allow determination of:

  1. maximum hardness of steel after quenching;
  2. changes of hardness - and after applicable recalculation - other mechanical properties;
  3. critical diameter - and with usage of appropriate nomograms - ideal critical diameter.

All measures are performed in accordance with Polish Norm PN-72/H-04402.
