The scope of research activity:

• Development of nondestructive methods of testing of materials and parts/objects (mainly with usage of eddy current). Development, manufacturing and implementation of equipment and sensors;
• Development of equipment and sensors for nondestructive testing with usage of eddy current method. Accommodation of abovementioned parts for realization of specific measurements.

Range of testing possible to be performed with nondestructive method:

• Estimation of value and direction of stresses;
• Hardness measurements;
• Determination of thickness of surface diffusion layers and coatings;
• Detection of occurrence and size of material flaws;
• Detection of presence and localization of grinding burns;
• Damage of material evaluation;
• Determination of thickness of corrosion pits;
• Detection of changes of material structure;
• Estimation of thickness of tank walls (one side accessible walls);
• Description of corrosion processes proceeding.

Zakres prac:

• Inspection of quality of structure, detection and flaws and cracks;
• Testing of properties of surface layers;
• Description of corrosion processes proceeding during use of parts;
• Inspection of thickness of zinc coatings;
• Measurement of electric conductivity of thin layers.
