Heat Treatment Department carries out research and development works in the range of:
  • steel hardening and hardening medium selection;
  • properties of quenching fluids;
  • selection and usage of controlled atmospheres for heat treatment processes;
  • glow-discharge nitriding;
  • ferritic glow-discharge carbonitriding;
  • glow-discharge nitriding and oxidizing;
  • generation of Ti(NCO) based composite layers;
  • equipment construction for the above technologies;
  • new technologies of heat and thermochemical treatment of metals and alloys with special consideration of vacuum;
  • glow-discharge, fluidized-bed and protective atmosphere heat treatment processes;
  • equipment, new solutions of the heat treatment furnaces and their technological performances;
  • monitoring and archivization of experimental processes;
  • vacuum soldering;
  • deep cold treatment (cryogenic treatment) of steel.

 

Heat Treatment Department carries out the technological works in the range of:
  • heat treatment of tools (elimination of hardening salts);
  • hardening problems with the constructional and tool steels;
  • quenching fluids selection;
  • production of atypical equipment, furnaces, testers and indicators;
  • computer systems for control and visualization for heat treating furnaces and equipment;
  • production and implementation of the equipment for the formation of surface layers under glow discharge conditions;
  • implementation of the technologies;
  • selection of products and steel grades for glow-discharge thermochemical treatment processes;
  • commercial technological services;
  • heat and thermochemical treatment, i.e. hardening and tempering in vacuum and protective atmospheres; carbonizing and carbonitriding with hardening and tempering in carbonizing and protective atmospheres; glow-discharge or fluidized-bed nitriding; nitrooxidizing and oxidizing in nitriding atmosphere and steam; annealing in vacuum or in protective atmospheres;
  • fluxless soldering in vacuum;
  • material selection for heat treatment;
  • surface preparation for heat treatment processes.

 

Heat Treatment Department prepares experts reports and elaborations in the range of:
  • defects and their prevention in heat-treated parts;
  • measurement and control problems of heat treatment parameters;
  • modernisation of the heat treatment plants;
  • glow-discharge thermochemical technologies;
  • technical consulting;
  • materials, technologies and equipment for heat treatment and thermochemical treatment processes;
  • atypical heat treatment technologies and equipment;
  • qualifying and complementary training in modern technological processes and servicing of heat treatment equipment;
  • consulting service in the range of selection of technologies, materials, processes and equipment and the assessment of technical and technological projects of heat treatment plants.

 

Heat Treatment Department elaborates modernisation projects of the heat treatment plants in regard to the requirements of quality system.
